Recuperation pay (havraa) calculator
Get an annual estimate based on the seniority, daily rate and job percentage you enter. The calculator shows the amount for a full year; it does not calculate the balance due since the last payment.
The default is ₪418 per day, the rate binding in the private sector under the extension order. An updated amount of ₪451.5 was agreed in a collective agreement but, at the time of writing, had not yet been extended by an extension order, so it does not bind all employers; anyone covered by the updated amount can enter it in the rate field. In the public sector and in industries with a collective agreement, the rate and the number of days may differ. The result is an estimate and does not constitute legal advice.
Recuperation pay: who is entitled and how much
Entitlement starts after one year
Recuperation pay is paid to an employee who has completed one full year of work with the same employer. There is no entitlement in the first year; from the second year on, the payment is made every year, usually in the summer months, and sometimes split into monthly payments.
The number of days grows with seniority
Seniority counts with the current employer only and resets when moving between employers. The table common in the private sector is 5 days in the first year, 6 in years 2–3, 7 in years 4–10, 8 in years 11–15, 9 in years 16–19, and 10 days from year 20 onward.
The calculation
The annual amount is the number of recuperation days times the daily rate, times the job percentage. An employee in a 50% position is entitled to half the amount. The daily rate is set by an extension order and updated from time to time, so check which rate is in force on the payment date.
Employees who have left
An employee who has finished their employment is entitled to the proportional share of recuperation pay for the period since the last payment, provided they have already completed their first year of seniority.
