A shared time clock at the entrance

Tablet attendance station

One tablet at the entrance and a personal card for each employee. Tap the card and the entry or exit is recorded — with the employee’s name and the time on screen.

What the station does

Identifies the employee by card

Each employee gets a personal NFC card. The tablet reads it with its built-in NFC, with no external reader.

Entry or exit — on its own

The employee chooses nothing. The system decides whether it is an entry or an exit from their last punch.

Confirmation on screen

After the tap the screen shows a greeting, the employee’s name and the time recorded. A card that is not registered gets a clear message.

No duplicates

Tapping again within a minute does not record a second punch — the screen asks to try again in a moment.

Tied to a site

Each station is linked to one work location, and every punch on it is recorded with that site.

Managed remotely

In the admin console you see every station, which site it belongs to and when it was last seen, and you can revoke a station remotely.

How to set up a station

  1. Define a work locationIn the admin console, on the work locations screen. The station will be linked to it.
  2. Turn on kiosk mode on the tabletInstall the RayClock app from Google Play and sign in as an admin. In the More menu choose Kiosk mode, pick the work location and give the station a name (optional). The admin is signed out and the app restarts as a station — landscape, with the screen kept on. There is no code to copy or scan.
  3. Register the cardsAn admin opens the app on their own phone, picks an employee and taps the card — the card ID is scanned and saved. You can also type the card ID in the admin console.
  4. Start clockingFrom then on employees tap their card on the way in and out, and the punches go into the same report as phone punches.

What you need

The station keeps the screen on, but it does not lock the device by itself. To keep employees from leaving the app, use screen pinning or device management. To leave kiosk mode properly: tap the logo five times and sign in with an admin account.

When a station beats phones

The team doesn’t carry phones at workA kitchen, a warehouse, a production line or cleaning — tap a card, no phone needed.
Not everyone has a smartphoneOne card is enough. No app on a personal device and no password to remember.
Everyone uses the same entranceOne station at the door ties the punch to the place itself.
Phones are better when…the team moves between sites or works at customers’ premises. Then mobile clock-in for field workers fits, or an NFC tag on the wall when everyone has a compatible phone.

Frequently asked questions

Which tablet do I need?

An Android tablet or device with NFC, with the RayClock app from Google Play and an internet connection. The tablet reads cards with its built-in NFC, so there is no need for an external reader. Check compatibility with us before buying.

Can employees clock in at the station with a PIN, a QR code or a photo?

No. The station identifies employees by NFC card only. An employee who has the app can also clock in from the phone, and the punches go into the same report.

What happens when an employee forgets the card?

The screen sends them to the shift manager. The manager completes the record by hand, and the change is kept in the activity log with who made it and when.

A card was lost. What do I do?

Revoke the card in the admin console and register a new card for the employee. A revoked card is no longer recognized at the station.

The tablet was stolen or replaced. What do I do?

Revoke the station on the kiosk stations screen. On its next punch the tablet unpairs itself and goes back to being a regular app, with no account signed in.

What happens if the internet goes down?

The station does not store punches to send later. Without a connection it shows “Network error — try again”, and the punch is not recorded. The manager completes a missed punch by hand with a reason.

Can I set up several stations?

Yes. Each station is linked to one work location. You can put a station in every branch, or several stations at the same place.

How much does it cost?

The tablet station is included in the subscription and is enabled on your account on request. NFC cards are ordered separately — write to support@rayclock.co.il for a quote. Full prices are on the pricing page.

Want a station at the entrance?

A 14-day trial, up to 100 employees, no credit card. After that, pricing is by active employees.
